The product reviews for this on Amazon are not good. It is unusual to need two USB cables for a USB mic. Right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock, then choose "Recording Devices". Right-click over the mic then choose "Properties". Then click the "Levels" tab and see if you can turn any boost controls off.
