Did you mean 10.12.3?

Possibly Audio to buffer might.  Latency correction will not.

Really we need a "pre-roll duration" setting for Sound Activated Recording
to solve this.

"Internal Speakers" is an output setting I would guess, not an input setting.

Look in System Preferences > Sound, Input tab for whatever microphone
you are using.
