You should be aware that Audacity is an audio-only editor. You can't use it to edit video. If you can extract the video soundtrack, you can edit and process it to your heart's content, but then you have to get it back into the video file. I have done that before, but I forget which tool I used. Your best bet for removing the vocal from a song is by the process called OOPS (Out Of Phase Stereo). That involves inverting one of the channels then summing both channels to mono. That will have the effect of cancelling out anything that's in the exact center of the stereo image - which is usually the lead vocal, bass, bass drum, and lead/solo instruments. Traces of those instruments will probably remain, though.
