possible issue with Windows Media Player?

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone can help me out here. I'm going to need to do a
little more testing to see if this is just an issue with the timers on
my recorder or if this is an issue with all files, but it's certainly
confusing. Here's the issue, I set my recorder to record for a certain
length of time, usually between an hour and an hour and 15 minutes.
When I play the recording back on my computer using Windows Media
Player, WMP usually displays the time as being one second longer than
I had set it for. For example, if I had set my recorder to record for
70 minutes, WMP would display the time as 1:10:01. In any other file,
this would mean that the actual length of the file is somewhere
between 1:10:00.500 and 1:10:01.500. However, with this particular
recorder, it would be around 1:10:10.505 or something. Can anyone
provide an explanation as to why this might happen?
