And bobrenfro's fix is good for anyone with this problem who w= ould rather not (for whatever reason) rebuild their wmp. Bobrenfro's fix fo= rces wmp to re-read and thus populate, missing track length data. Also wmp's "length" column displays no data (for affected tracks). The seek= function will not work with such tracks. 'Rob Margel' is referring to is s= omething else; how to click on WMP's task bar to get it to display track le= ngth, counting up/or down. Whilst this deeper problem that we're talking ab= out here though, persists, the absence of track length data means the task = bar cannot, in any event (no way, no how) display track length.=C2=A0=C2=A0= =20 And other suggestions you may find helpful here's how you force WMP to add the track lengths again. Let's use just one= track in an example. Go to where the track is stored. Add a folder there, = call it say, 'A.' Copy the track that is a problem and paste it in there. N= ow rename it (you can just add '1' to its name if you wish, whatever, just = as long as it's renamed). Now delete the original track. Open WMP. The orig= inal track is gone. You'll see the 'copied' track has a length. From here i= t's up to you, you may copy and paste it back where it was, and give it bac= k its original name - it will retain track length. If you have a few, yes, = it will take a while, but in my case, I found myself doing this and cursing= the time spent, only to find one day it all stops happening and everything= 's okay.
