trouble using libraries

Hi,

i want to use the library in my program, but im
having trouble,

i first open it with cdda_find_a_cdrom() and
then cdda_open(),

those go fine, but when i call:

cdda_read()  ... it returns 8, which is:
TR_NOTREADY /* Device not ready */

what am i doing wrong?

the 'cdparanoia' utility works fine...
