Can you be more specific about what you mean by "usually"? For example,
suppose you attempt to rip one particular problematic CD multiple times,
keeping everything else the same (i.e., same hardware, all the same cdparanoia
parameters, etc.)  Does the ripping consistently fail on a specific track(s)
for that particular CD? Are the track(s) other than the problematic one(s)
ripped ok? If you can supply full detail on what happens in this multiple-
rip case of a single CD, it may help to narrow down the possibilities.
