Cryptic error message from xorriso

Hello,

I'm trying to run xorriso with the folowing command:
growisofs -M /dev/hdc -R -J -V Daily Daily *.Monday.*

Before that I did:
export MKISOFS=xorrisofs

It starts running:

GNU xorriso 1.0.2 : RockRidge filesystem manipulator, libburnia project.

Media status : is blank

But then it fails with an error:
...

xorriso : aborting : -abort_on 'FAILURE' encountered 'FATAL'

:-( xorrisofs has failed: 32

I would like to know what this error means, bu have not been able
to find anything about it.
Help please!
