Why do you check this? It is completely unimportant for the
functionality of cdrtools.

Well it is not expected to give different results in special as
dev=/dev/sr0 is unsupported.

cdrecord works with all known Linux kernels, did you test this
with an official unmodified Linux Kernel?

cdrskin does not implement rscsi.....
