Hi,

There are no plans to increase the maximum channel count. It would be
possible by multiplexing several FLAC streams together into an ogg or
mka container, but this hasn't been implemented anywhere yet.

For your specific use case, I'd recommend trying WavPack. WavPack is
not as widely supported as FLAC, so check your playback application
for support first. You can either export to WAV and use a conversion
tool, or export directly to WavPack from Audacity through ffmpeg.
