does not have appropriate cpu or arch param, that's why these instructions are not valid for default arm cpu (which is armv4).
you need to pass -mcpu or -march with appropriate cpu. smlaXX instructions are armv5e. Check inside configure script what you need to pass to be able to properly compile.
