Hi,

The problem was with the API I used to setup the audio device. After switching to native system calls to set the audio configuration the 16-bit sample size worked fine.

The Speex encoding/decoding examples are working for me now.

Hi,

I'm new to Speex and I'm trying to get the example code in the manual working.

In the Speex encoding/decoding examples 16-bit samples are used. I can't get the code to work with 8-bit samples and 8 khz freq. I'm not able to set my sample size to 16 bits.

How can I make the Speex examples work with 8-bit samples, or should they work with 8-bit samples without modification ?
