In the midiin man page it says " Be careful when using midiin in low numbered instruments, since a MIDI note will launch additional instances of the instrument, resulting in duplicate events and weird behaviour. Use massign<https://csound.com/manual/opcodes/massign/> to direct MIDI note on messages to a different instrument or to disable triggering of instruments from MIDI." It is possible to prevent the opcode from executing if triggered by a MIDI event. That looks like it should prevent the issues that are noted above.
