Yes it does actually. We basically have the darn thing done to where we need
it now. A couple more set up scripts need to be worked out and a bunch of
testing and debugging. Our one big disappointment ( that will hopefully be
solved by Csound5 ) is that while multi audio channel i/o works, it kills the
timing for some reason. We know this is not a coding error, because the
problems disappear as soon as we just change it back to 2 channels, and the
timing is bad with more channels even with CPU use < 30% and no underuns.
Pity, cause being able to sequence outboard analogs and bring the audio back
into Csound for processing sounds great. The multi audio outs also allow us to
have a "hidden" monitor send to preview improvised sequences before bringing
them into the main mix, or to do quad swoopy stuff, etc.
I think what we'll probably do is put the whole thing up somewhere for
interested people to browse, and put smaller parts up individually that are
actually documented properly. I'm writing an example page for the engine right
now, and will certainly post it here when done.
By the way, anyone on here a wiz with C and posix threads? I'd be very
interested in porting my engine design to C as well, in the hopes of
eventually doing clocking and i/o from a C program embedding Csound for audio.
It looks like one should be able to do this very well with Posix threads, but
there's a lot for me to learn there!
