Another option is to do a sort of looser style of half-collaboration half-remixing. This would be really cool to do with open source music and code. Folks could upload tracks and parts of tracks for others to muck around with. It'd be interesting to be able to go down a page listening to a bunch of final (?) mixdowns that intermix various common components. The main problem would probably just be hosting the large files. I kinda need to get off my ass and do some php coding ( so someone can pay me to program eventually, ha ha ) so if anyone else was interested in making a searchable database driven remix central repository, I'd be happy to help out. I don't have time to do it completely on my own though. Any other php savvy folks think this would be cool? Especially a collaborator on the gui/prettyness side, which I am neither experienced at nor particularly interested in. I can make forms that search database though! Come to think of it, now that csound5 looms on the horizon, maybe now is a good time to start thinking about that kind of stuff again ( intrument/opcode/plugin databases. ) We talked about it ages ago on here but a bunch of us thought it might make sense to wait till csound 5 as the new stuff makes sharing much easier via named sub-instruments. I also know a whole lot more about database web programming now than I used to. ; ) Iain Iain _______________________________________________ csoundtekno mailing list [email protected] Subscribe, unsubscribe, change mailing list options: http://plot.bek.no/mailman/listinfo/csoundtekno
