Oh, no!  csound~ extern is simply a wrapper for a csound process under
pd.  It simply runs a csound binary of your choice (you have to
specify which, in fact) and establishes a pipe-like communication
between pd and the running csound process.  I'm not sure about raising
csound priority over pd but I'm sure it's doable.

It will probably be the same extern which you will simply point to the
new csound binary.

You could probably [mis]use te shell extern to pipe things around, I guess...
