Nathan, I would heavily recommend using Python instead. ( I did indeed start off
as you are, using php offline just 'cause I already knew it, ). First off it's
beautiful, fast, and easy to learn, even though the online documentation isn't
nearly as good as PHPs. Secondly, you can now ( with csound5 ) use your python
code from within csound, and thirdly you can integrate your work directly with
the editor of your choosing, either with the vim module for python or with
pymacs for emacs. ( Ok, I'm assuming you'll choose one of those two! Ha ha ha. )

If you do it in python, you should be able to have the whole thing running in
real time with real time tweakable paramaters instead of having to do it offline
as with PHP.

I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with. After the show we will have
to have a vanouver users meeting and compare. = )
