Hi Iain, Folks, On Thursday, September 4, 2003, at 11:05 PM, Iain Duncan wrote: > By the way, I saw Sutekh and Safety Scissors from San Fran here a > month or > so ago. Sutekh was really good ... This and Gerald's reply got me thinking it would be nice to have a summary of what's going on in this line in various cities around the world. The entries could be quite short, including say ... town/city venue name(s), address (even if only locale/suburb), contact (if possible) some names of people who play/have played there some subjective comments I'd put this up as a section at mstation.org as it could be useful to both fans and musicians. Typically, where I live anyway, the places that put this on have no promotions budget so you just need to hear about it somehow. General mstation stuff is that currently there's a short interview with Jussi Laako and links to his tests of various audio compression encoders (mp3, ogg, wma, and ra8). As well as that if you're in London, England on Oct 8/9 Linux Expo is on at Olympia. Entry is free if you register at www.linuxexpo.co.uk Mstation will be there handing out music CDs and talking a lot. The guys from the Rosegarden sequencer have a stand as well. If anyone from this list will be around, and wants to be a csound expert to talk to people about it, let me know. Cheers John
