Re: Blue users?

Hi Iain and all,

The latest thing in blue developement is some realtime functionality via 
the new blueLive dialog.  It lets you use soundObjects (marked in the 
registry for live) to write score and trigger them.  Not too 
complicated, but good for experimenting with ideas in SCO format and 
then being able to reuse the same material in composed work on the main 
score timeline(versus playing around in MIDI and then having to find a 
way to convert ideas between MIDI and SCO domains).  I'll be using this 
and regular MIDI stuff at the next BACSUG meeting (our Csound live jam 
meeting!).  This feature uses -L stdin on csound, though, so no luck on 
windows (and still haven't tested on macOSX yet). 

And by tracking of wave files, how do you mean?  I put in an AudioFile 
soundObject that's disabled by default in this last release as it's sort 
of beta.  With it you can select a soundFile and have it on the 
timeline; works using diskin.  To enable it, uncomment it in the 
blue/conf/registry.xml file.  There's also a place there to edit the 
csound code so you can reroute the output to whatever you'd like (zak, 
globals, etc.) as well as do things like bring down the volume or 
process the sound.  If you're thinking of something else, let me know 
and I'll try to push it in a new release.

Now that I've gotten the realtime module in I'll be revamping 
blueShare.  Kevin Welsh has been great in bringing lots of ideas for 
blue and blueShare, so hopefully in a release or two blueShare will 
really be extremely easy to share and try out other people's 
instruments.  If you're giving blue a try and have ideas, please let me 
know.  Often a lot of the ideas people let me know about are things I 
simply never thought to put in but find would be great to have myself!
