Hello Kit,
yes, both do coexist in a separate program directory.
It is not because I want to charge for a simpler program, but for Easy
Audio Copy I need to pay license fees for MP3 (a quite huge amount) and
GD3 metadata (which also comes at an extra cost if you purchase the GD3
plugin for EAC). Finally there are costs for payment handling, etc.
There is not that much that is left (perhaps there would be if I am
selling a million copies ;-))
Therefore I have no other possibility as to charge for the convenience
to not to install LAME or the metadata provider plugins and to have a
complete out of the box experience...
Basically a nice idea to send mails to users, but there are no real
"registered" users of EAC (besides those writing me an email or donating
some money). And additionally it would be advertisements, which would be
only half-legal (and I wouldn't like it)...
