That will only work if the album name (as provided to EAC) includes the
"(CD n)" information. Is there a variable for disc number? (Is there a way
to tell EAC what the disc number is?) I know in (sorry about the heresy)
iTunes or mp3tag you can indicate that a disc is "n of x" , e.g., 2 of 5,
thus keeping a set together under one album name but in the correct track
sequence by disc.
Ripping is simple, it's the tagging that will kill you (unless you don't
care about consistency or making sense).
