The reason I say it's not political is that I tend to pick (and rotate) 
sig quotes that might appear to support or oppose just about every 
ideological position possible. It was not my intention to take a 
political stand among people who know me only slightly and not at all in 
person, and, had I thought about it, I'd have deleted the quote before 
posting.

That said, I do believe that the three sure-fire conversation starters 
are sex, religion, and politics. Here in Massachusetts, we used to be 
able to get all three into 2 words: "Ted Kennedy." But, de mortuis nil 
nisi bonum dicendum est. (The original Greek version translates as 
"Don’t badmouth a dead man.")

Here are a few of my other occasional sig quotes, in case it helps you 
to understand my intent any better:
