I apologize for having given that impression. What appears to make the
quote "political", I think, is that two of the people it mentions happened
to take part in elections. I am sure that something similar could have been
said about a large number of other people in modern societies, people who
didn't run for office but nevertheless have similar personal proclivities,
and it would not have seemed to be "political". To me, as I am a dinosaur,
a political comment would be one that referred to a person's political
ideology, or policy positions. This quote did neither.
