I have and recommend ASUS routers like the RT-AC56U running the ASUSWRT-Merlin firmware. They are rock-solid and withstand multiple torrents without a hiccup. I need to have a router to hook up more than one thing to the internet. I was reading reviews or routers and one of them, which was otherwise much loved, had a comment saying that downloading torrents caused it to crash and a reboot of the system was required. I can’t find that model now but I remember that the commenter said that it had minimal memory. > > Taking all of that into account, can somebody recommend a router for use with cable internet? I’d rather not use wireless (and don’t need to – everything is close together). > > Thanks. > >
