If I get just a few mismatches, then I try test & copy. Normally I don't bother with the test
function, as it's pointlessly time consuming. For the vast majority of cases, if there's any problem
with your rip the test & copy CRCs will not match. As for how far the Accurate Rip Database is to be
trusted, I suppose it really depends on how may people have submitted data for that disc. If it's
only the one, then it's very possible that theirs was the inaccurate one. I have access to 3 optical
drives on 2 computers, but I have had a couple of occasions where one track simply refuses to rip
accurately & give matching results on the test & copy on any of them. On those occasions I have to
listen to the rip carefully & decide whether or not I can detect any audible errors.
If it sounds error free to you, then it is obviously good enough. The only reason it wouldn't be
would be if you were sharing your rips with fussy pirates who want all their music free, but insist
on documented perfection.
