This sounds to me more like a player-application problem than a ripping
problem.
Let's see if I understand this: you have a folder (well, many folders, but
just one will serve as an example) with more than one mp3 (or flac, or
something) inside it. If you select one file, your music player plays one
file.
Quite honestly, that is the behavior I would expect.
What happens if you select the folder that the files are in, instead of a
file inside the folder? If you can't do that, what happens if you select
multiple files at once?
Do you still have any of the files or folders that you made using Windows
Media Player? If so, what is in those folders in addition to the mp3 files?
(e.g., pls files, m3u files, anything?)
As to having the artwork or other info included in the files, that's a
matter of putting the right kind of "tag" inside the files. What are the
options that you have told EAC to use when ripping and/or compressing a
file?
