Even FLAC level 0 shaves off between 20%-50% compared to the original WAV file.

FLAC level 5: an additional ~5%.

FLAC level 8: less than an additional 1%.

Unscientific reference/source: batch re-encoded a large part of my 3
TB music collection a while ago. Version used: libFLAC 1.2.1 20070917,
so your mileage may vary very slightly (current version is 1.3.2 if
I'm not mistaken).
