That would be very strange. I run Windows 7 on my main desktop but have never tired to play audio or video on the windows native player. VLC is my only player for everything multimedia. Nothing beats it and it displays the graphics fine in either mp3 or flac nusic files.

Is there any advantage to having the album art imbedded in the music file? It seems like a number of players will search the folder for album art and display it if the player has that functionality. So I am not sure what the value of bloating a file just for a picture.
i, personally, see no utility to that.. but.. one downside is that on my win7system, windows media player can't play mp3's with embedded graphics. dunno about the wmp on win10
