strange Bitrates, especially with large covers

Hello.
 

 I have a strange problem with EAC and the bitrate of the outcoming mp3 files.
 

 The thing is: when I rip my CDs, I add the lyrics (if I can find them) and I add the cover of the CD. When it comes to covers, I try to use big images. Most of them are around 1000x1000 or 700x700. But i also have some, where the cover pic is like: 2800x2800 or 3000x3000. 

 

 I rip my CDs with Lame and VBR 192 settings (I didn't change them, EAC itself created the command line)

 

 After the ripping, I import the mp3s to iTunes. The strange thing is: the bitrate of the songs are way too high.
 I think it either depends on the lenght of the song, or on the size of the cover.
 

 For example: a short song: of just 4 seconds. The cover is 600x600. The bitrate according to iTunes is 813kbit/s
 another short one: 25 seconds, the cover is 1396x1396. The bitrate of this one is 476kbit/s.
 

 and the other way round: a song of 1.39 minutes. The cover is 3000x3000. The bitrate is 520kbit/s.
 

 After some internet searching, I read that the VBR mp3 header could be the problem and needs to be fixed. I downloaded Foobar2000 and gave it a try with the last mentioned song. After this program fixed the VBR header, the bitrate now showed as 188kbit/s - this sounds realistic.
 

 So, could it be, that my EAC is setup wrong? Or is it a generel (known?) problem with EAC?
