I found the problem: The "culprit" is the Windows Real-Time Protection!!
:-))

I tried the second user account as suggested (which did not work
either), but I got a notification about the real-time protection
blocking some access. After (temporary) disabling the real-time
protection, the drive and the CD were recognized!

I will try to find out, which exceptions need to be defined exactly to
make it work permanetly and report it back.
