But, I need to correct the above. If you burn the video to DVD-ROM, say a MKV wrapped video, there will be no degradation. If you take that MKV file from the DVD-ROM and burn it to another DVD-ROM, again no degradation. If you make an ISO of the DVD and burn the ISO, no degradation. You will only have degradation if you re-encode the video. If the video was MPEG-2 and was DVD-video compliant, you could author a DVD-video and have no video degradation. If you copy that DVD-video, you will have no degradation. But, if you have to recode the video before the DVD authoring process, you will have degradation. You will have NO further degradation if you copy that authored DVD-video. The key point is that you have to have recoding before you can have further degradation. All of the above applies to Blue-ray ROMs and/or Blu-ray authored videos.
