EAC will not read CD file, but playing is okay

Hello All,

I have started to have issues with EAC which I have been using for years
(current version is 1.3, 2 September 2016 and currently being used on a HP
Envy, Windows 10 that is 8 months old).  I am burning CD's  to FLAC and
some tracks I am getting sync errors.  If they are 1 to 5 seconds long I
listen to them to see if  there an issue  but usaually do not hear anything
wrong.  Other times the track will stop dead and I need to skip the track.
But when I listen, via EAC,  the sound is okay.

What should I be looking for?
