Federico,
messages are still being posted to the old group, and some people have
started posting to the new group (for example, I am sending this reply to
both addresses so everyone has a chance to see it). As soon as your
subscription to the new group is approved by the moderator(s), you will
start receiving messages from there. When Yahoo finally closes the Yahoo
group, no more messages will come from there.
So the transition period you suggest already exists. It's up to the members
to use the new group.
