Don't let the EXS search for the file again but press "continue" (I think 
that's what the dialog box says). It will then load the instrument without 
the audio files.
After that, go to the editor and select the zone(s) in question. Point them 
to the correct audiofiles.
Unfortunately, I think that the zone settings will still be lost on such an 
operation (what the heck were they thinking when implementing it like 
this?).

Fwiw, these sort of operations are incredibly lousy in the EXS and I am 
still wondering how on earth they have never been adressed.

If you want these things to be fixed easier, I recommend Redmaticas EXS 
Manager, which will happily readress the proper samples to your EXS patches.
