mac OS 9 problems

Hi just wondered if anyone has encountered the same problems. I just bought a second hand G4 and I've had to reinstall OS 9 operating system. I want to run Norton Utilities through it but it won't beeo up from my Norton disc. Does anyone have any suggestions? I dont want to run Logic on it until its stable.
