Yes, it's the same.

However, with the default setting, it only writes a new file system,  
it does not remap all the sectors of the disc.

To completely reformat and remap the drive, before you click Erase,  
click options and set it to write zeros to all the sectors.  That  
will take some time but will give you a newly mapped drive with bad  
sectors locked out.
