Sell my Quad G5, and use MBP 17inch Core Duo 2 for Logic Pro?

I bought a Quad G5 right before the Intel machines came out.  I was wondering if my performance would be equal to the new 17 inch MBP's?Also, if I ran a 30inch Cinema Display on the MBP at Full resolution, would it hamper the speed of Logic Pro?Thanks!Scott.
