the authorizations (purchases) are written onto the
USB key, so they should still be there. However there
was a faulty series of USB keys and there was a
temporary exchange program (for free) with Apple. That
time ran out a long long time ago...
I suggest you browse the apple support pages, you may
find a hint, either a good idea or an e-mail address
at Apple that would actually reply. Don't shun these
pages, they are excellent resources

When you start Logic 6 what does it say? Does it find
the key?
If ever you want to upgrade you may want to know that
Logic 8 doesn't run on G4 machines slower than 1 GHz.
However I recently found out to my surprise that Logic
8.01 does run on my old 887 MHz G4 laptop whereas 8.00
didn't.
