Hey Simon,

Why do you need to run OS9? You can go as far as OS X 10.3.9 /  
ProTools/DAE 6.4.1 / Logic 7.1.1

That was a pretty stable scenario for that gear -  Epic TDM should  
work with that rig and you'll still have access to HTDM
