So, here's my dilemma. As part of my job I cut thousands of drum triggers in Pro Tools to be used with Sound Replacer. For the best results and accuracy each hit has to be cut right up to the transient and then cut at 1/2 cycle - leaving just a small blip of audio (up or down) - all other audio cleared out. It is extremely time consuming even when using beat detective to make the initial cuts.
I use Logic off and on and was thinking that there's got to be a better way for me to do this in Logic, so I tried it out but ran into some hang-ups.
When in flex mode and trying to "slice regions at transient markers" it never slices right where the transient markers are, but leaves a small buffer to the left. Is there a way to fix this?
Also, is there a way to edit multiple separate regions at the same time to be sized/trimmed to the same length? That way after properly slicing all the hits into regions I could make them all 1/2 cycle long in length and be done!
Any ideas?
thx
ryan
