It's not controlled like the Virus from within Logic.  There's no
specialized software for automation recording, but if you want to suffer and
struggle, you could use a Novation type SL MKII, or the like, and write your
own maps (no thanks!)

It's just another multi.  And the Editor is about the best I've seen for any
standard hardware synth, but it runs separately, or, if using Cubase, as a
VST Plugin.  It is a VERY good synth editor.

The mLAN add-on provides 16 in, 16 out digitals, or 8 stereo pairs, via FW,
at up to 192khz.  I don't know about converter quality, but I can tell you
it sounds as good as my RME.  That audio interface can be used as the only
one in Logic, but it's far more versatile to add that interface to existing
interfaces, as an "aggregate" sound device, in the AudioMidi Setup app.
 Then you can pick and choose (e.g, with the FF800 + Motif (via mLAN), I get
56 ins (RME) plus 16 more ins (mLAN).  I've even added the onboard digital
ins of the Mac, but I don't need all those inputs.

It's a fine synth.  Ranks right up there with my 5080s and 5050, and shames
the (inferior) Fantom XR (wish I had my money back on that one).
