I've found that SoundDiver through Rosetta hasn't been very reliable. It seems to choke on large data transfers. Bulk receives/dumps tend to fail. But individual patch editing seems to work. As stated in other threads, an XSKey is required. Let me forewarn anyone attempting to install the package. The installer package installs the PPC versions of the EmagicUSBMIDIDriver.plugin, EmagicXSKey.kext, and XSKey Updater. This will cause your Unitor8/AMT8 to become unavailable in Audio MIDI Setup. If you haven't installed SoundDiver 3.1.0PB2 on your Intel OS X, then follow these directions: 1) Mount the SoundDiver_3.1_Beta2.dmg 2) Open a Terminal window 3) Copy just the SoundDiver part of the package to your home directory by entering at the prompt: cp -R /Volumes/SoundDiver\ Public\ Beta\ 2/Install\ Sounddiver\ 3.1\ Public\ Beta\ 2.mpkg/Contents/Resources/SoundDiver\ 3.1.pkg . 4) Launch the SoundDiver 3.1.pkg If you've already run the "Install Sounddiver 3.1 Public Beta 2" installer package and your Unitor8/AMT8 isn't working, follow these directions to fix it: 1) Trash the EmagicXSKey.kext in System->Library->Extensions (optional, but recommended) 2) Trash the EmagicUSBMIDIDriver.plugin in Library->Audio->MIDI Drivers 3) Trash the XSKey Updater in Applications->Utilities (optional, but recommended) 4) Insert your Logic Studio DVD 5) Open a Terminal window 6) Run: cd / 7) Run: pax -r -k -z -f /Volumes/Logic\ Studio/Installer/Packages/UnitorMIDIDriver.pkg/Contents/Resources/UnitorMIDIDriver.pa x.gz If anyone knows somewhere other than the Logic Studio disc to get the EmagicUSBMIDIDriver.plugin, please post here. _________________________________________________________________ Make distant family not so distant with Windows Vista® + Windows Live™. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/digitallife/keepintouch.mspx?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_CPC_VideoChat_distantfamily_012008 ________________________________________________________________________ SoundDiver Users Group - new forums! http://logic-users.org/forums/SD - To UNSUBSCRIBE: email sounddiver-users-unsubscribe-hHKSG33TihhbjbujkaE4pw@public.gmane.org - Search the entire archive: http://logic-users.org/forums/SD/search Yahoo!
