[SoundDiver] AMT on XP issue (Unitor Control / Virus Control)

Having issues since I moved apartments.
 
Setup AMT8, bought new RS-232 serial cable (lost old one).
 
System cannot find/communicate with the unit.
 
Reinstalled AMT8 serial drivers.
 
No change.
 
Re-plugged cables, no change.
 
 
Could my COM port be shot? Seems strange to me.
 
XP shows the drivers installed, and I can see the COM port reported properly as well.
 
I never have had a problem with my AMT8 before. Puzzled over why I have an issue now.
 
 
Any ideas?
