[SoundDiver] JLCooper MSB 16/20 and/or MSB+ Rev2 with Sounddiver

Greetings,
I've been trying to figure out how to use a JLCooper MSB 16/20 with Sounddiver for the purpose of getting the MIDI outs from my instruments connected to the computer for sound management, as I only have 8 actual ins and more instruments than that.
The MSB is basically responding since I've used the appropriate MIDI in and out ports and made the corresponding assignments in every patch stored in the unit, but can't seem to get SD to scan its ports to find my gear. I suspect that I need to set up appropriate patches in the MSB so SD can go through each patch and see what is connected when switched, and have attempted to set up appropriate connections, but it still isn't working.
I've also tried to manually specify port and patches needed in order to reach specific gear, but even this isn't working. SD seems to be sending sysex information to the MSB rather than changing patches, which would seem like the easier approach.
I also have two MSB + Rev2 units that I could also use for this purpose.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
