The original CD is required to re authorize the software if you still have it. Mine was nearly £300 10 years ago, harder to find now, but hopefully much cheaper.
Easy to install from new if you have the CD, impossible without. You must install a compatible midi interface FIRST. The Midiman uno and 2 into 4 both install and work fine with SoundDiver, but take 4 passes of windows prerecorded messages before they're functional, don't shut these processes down they are all different.
My friends MOTU MIDIxpress isn't seen by SoundDiver, dunno what's going on there. G5 non Intel, Logic 7 ran, Logic 8 fine, SoundDiver sees a Midiman uno etc, which is how we function.
Unitor 8 MkII rev 3 OK MKII rev 2 didn't work at all

Without a functioning version of SoundDiver near you, you need to get the patches loaded (by a friendly member of this site?), loaded into the instrument, then saved as sysex in your sequencer of choice. That all works, I've had to do loads of it.

What make and model of instrument are we talking about?

Factory patches abound as sysex, a bit time consuming to find some of them, but if that's what it takes.....

The SoundDiver Beta version is worth buying a used Logic 7 for that dongle, and that'll work on any mac from the last 10 years.
