It should be possible to use them directly, but the OSX beta has at least 
two bugs that throw a spanner in the works: checksums are not sent and in 
some places there is an endian conversion that should not happen.  Problem 
one can be worked around if the device allows to send a fixed byte instead 
of the missing checksum (like 0x7f for Waldorf synths) or if the device can 
be told to ignore the checksum and the missing byte.  For problem two one 
needs to edit the adaptation in a way that after the (wrong) endian 
conversion the correct value is in place.  I do both of these chnages with a 
script that also does the resource fork packing, but it is a major PITA to 
find out what exactly has to change where.
