Yes indeed ... this is so dumb !
what were they thinking at korg ? 

anyway i never try this but u could try to 
save your MS2000 bank of patches as a dump midi file (37kb) 
and send it to the XL with a generic MIDI tool (Midi-OX) 
but the file size of the 2 dumps is different
the XL editor uses Only .mkxl_all extension and a bank is 67 Kb 
and the ms2000 midi dump bank is 37 Kb different formats different sizes 

.. but anyway worth a try

Forget this answer, it seems the editor comes with the 
MS2000/microKorg Factory Presets but isn't able to convert your own 
sound... :-(
