Using SD under Rosetta is horrible: Timing issues and crashes - no fun. I put it back to an old Powerbook G4 and even will go back to a machine capable of booting 9.x native eventually.

I would appreciate such a petition, but I think there will be no chance, neither further development nor giving away the sources.

Does anyone have contact with Michael Haydn, the main author of sounddiver? We should contact and talk to him, not to someone anonymus at Apple. Maybe he will be helpful.

AFAIS there are still many people out there using hardware, looking for an alternative to SoundDiver. There is none, simply spoken.

If there are people with programming skills, we should join forces for a compatible software which should run on Mac, Win and Linux. Could be done with RealBasic or some C compilers running on all platforms. Adaptation format is not that difficult to analyze, Modules will be a problem.

People with knowledge in Atari OS and 68k Assembler skills may reverse engineer the atari or Mac 68k version, but this is a lot of work and does not cover the latest versions.

You can determine if you are still running PowerPC applications by going into Applications -> Utilities -> System Profiler -> Applications and viewing "By Kind". This will show you which applications you have that are running under PowerPC. Rosetta had already become an optional install in Snow Leopard, and it appears Apple will be removing support for it entirely in Lion."
