You can keep Logic 7 mate...it is the last version of Logic that sounds good
After Logic 7, the sound engine/ audio on the subsequent versions is SHIT!
And you can always buy a Mac G5 for 200£ to keep going...And Sound Diver 3
works perfectly with that version...

and you will need the USB key to make it work of course!
no problem for L9 with the key.
