Is 2.4.999.1 a dev release?

Hi,

I am a contributor to the Homebrew package manager. Using their
automated bump tool, a PR [1] was created to bump icecast to 2.4.999.1
as found in the ftp server [2]. However, the download website [3]
still says 2.4.4.

So, should we proceed and bump the package to 2.4.999.1 or is it a dev release?
